Laser Snoring Treatment
What is snoring? Snoring is the audible vibration of respiratory structures, such as the soft palate and uvula, due to obstructed air movement during breathing while sleeping. It is also the most frequent nocturnal symptom of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), a potentially life-threatening disorder that causes repetitive episodes of partial or complete collapse of the upper airway during sleep. Many factors can contribute to snoring such as age, nasal and sinus problems, being overweight, alcohol use, smoking, medications, and sleep posture. For this reason, a careful and complete evaluation is imperative in order to obtain an effective treatment.

The importance of sleep.
Sleep is one of the most critical functions of the body and impacts your overall health. Sleep is when our body, its tissues and muscles are repaired and restored. It’s also when hormones are regulated and memories are organized.
These functions all happen in sleep levels known as deep sleep and REM (rapid-eye-movement) sleep and are vital to your body functioning correctly. And when your body doesn’t sleep, it doesn’t work correctly, impacting your overall health and even your brain function.
That means you may technically be getting a “full night’s sleep,” because you have had several hours of sleep, but if your body doesn’t get the deep sleep and restoration you need, you may end up feeling poorly and, in some cases, struggling with illnesses and other serious effects.

What is NightLase?
HOW IT WORKS
Nightlase® is a remarkable, non-invasive treatment performed to reduce the effects of snoring and increase the quality of your sleep. Treatment uses light energy to induce a tightening effect by contracting collagen in the oral mucosa tissue. Essentially, it tightens the tissue of the hard palate, soft palate, and portions of the tongue to create a more open airway. This tightens, lifts, and opens up your airway to help you breathe more easily, reduce your snoring and provide better sleep and overall health.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Treatment requires no device to be worn during sleep, involves no chemical treatment, and no anesthesia.
Nightlase consists of 3-5 treatments at about 3 week intervals. Each appointment is approximately 45 minutes long. The final results often last up to a year and treatments may be repeated as needed.
